Technothlon

An International School Championship

Technothlon is an International school championship conducted solely by the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati. I was fortunate enough to be a part of its core team. Be it making the question paper for the preliminary round, managing the Facebook page, successfully conducting the paper in my city, or designing events for the top 50 teams arriving IIT Guwahati during Techniche, every bit of it has been a fun and learning experience.

Our event, "All Buzzed Up!" comprised of two parts. The first one was a "checku"(shown in the picture), a fun and interesting hybrid of chess and sudoku. In the second part, we first taught the students the basics of logic and electronic circuits, after which they were told to make a synchronized mod 16 counter and buzz 16 different frequencies using it.

This is me as Super Mario on my freshers' party!

This is me, my batchmates and our juniors on their freshers' party. Their excitement and happiness can be clearly seen on their faces!

A Branch Representative is meant to bridge the gap between the professors and the students. Not just this, many things come unnoticed. Be it mentoring of juniors, keeping in touch with seniors, or conducting various department activities like freshers' party and intern talks. The journey till now has been pretty smooth. Every now and then, my patience and convincing skills have been tested, and every such moment has added to my worth! Being at such a position, I have learnt how to take decisions impartially and to everyone's benefit.

Welfare Secretary

This is me with other members of the Hostel Management Committee, celebrating our Hostel Day!

The happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others, and so I contested for the hostel elections. My agendas and approachable nature turned it into a success! As the welfare secretary, I made sure that fellow hostel residents have a comfortable stay. I ensured that monsters like depression don't trouble them, and they are mentally and physically sound. My tenure started with my juniors arriving at IIT Guwahati. It took them time to adjust to the new place and make new friends. Many sought guidance from me regarding various domains. I remember one day when a girl hugged me hard and said, "You are the best senior, best welfare secretary ever!". These little and sentimental moments are what I work for! It's in giving that we receive!

Anchoring, improvs and tons of content creation!

My day doesn't end without going here! My first interaction with the club was during the auditions for anchoring. Blessed enough to get selected, I got into the club, and since then, have been an active member. Luckily I got into both formal and informal anchoring. We are a family, and together we have done group discussions, situation rounds, video projects, and primarily had lots of fun! Not just this, we keep conducting open mics for the poets and comedians out there. Mr. and Ms. Fresher, the most awaited event of IITG, is also organized by AnR. The thing about AnR that appeals to me the most is the people, the club members!

The Dramatic Society of IIT Guwahati

I had a taste for acting since my childhood but had never got a chance to try it out. It was here that I did my first theatre, "Almost Maine", a beautiful compilation of love stories written by John Cariani. This was a roller coaster ride for me! We had to practice all day long, but then it was fun too! More than acting, it taught me patience and practice.

This was a first-ever street play in the history of IIT Guwahati, which was done solely by girls! It was a hell lot of fun! It's here that you realize the importance of coordination with energy. Got this prepared within two days, and guess what, we came second out of the 11 hostels of IIT Guwahati!

I often try making new hairstyles after seeing videos on YouTube. I love spending time with animals. And yeah, I sketch too!
